Clock in the way your people work
Not every employee sits at a desk, so Timed gives you more than one way to clock in, and you can mix them across your sites:
- On a phone, with the Timed Clock app installed straight from the browser. There's nothing to download from an app store. See mobile clock-in.
- On a shared branch kiosk: a tablet paired to the site by scanning its QR code, where employees enter a PIN.
- On a biometric terminal: HikVision facial recognition terminals and ZKTeco devices. See biometric clocking.
Phone clock-ins can carry a GPS check and a selfie check. Doubtful ones are still saved but flagged for a manager to look at, so nobody is locked out by a bad signal. Read why facial or GPS validation failed.
Shifts, sites and late arrivals
Put employees on sites and shifts, and Timed knows who was due where.
- Late and missing clock-in alerts are emailed every 30 minutes to the managers responsible for each location. See late clock-in alerts.
- A daily shift report shows scheduled against actual times, who was late, who didn't clock in and who's on leave. See the daily shift report.
- Auto clock-out closes records for people who forget, at the end of their shift plus a grace period. See auto clock-out.
Approvals before payroll
When worked hours don't match the shift, Timed creates a variance for a supervisor and a manager to approve or correct. Every approval records who did it and when, so a payroll query can be traced later. See approving variances.
The attendance report shows every clock record with its GPS and facial results, and exports to Excel.
Payroll: PaySpace and SimplePay
- PaySpace: employees and leave come in from PaySpace, and approved hours are checked in a dry run, then sent to the PaySpace pay period. See PaySpace integration.
- SimplePay: employees are linked by payroll number and their leave is imported every night. Hours are not sent to SimplePay. See SimplePay integration.
WhatsApp and an AI copilot
Your team is already on WhatsApp. Connect a WhatsApp number to Timed and employees can request leave, check on their leave requests and send documents from WhatsApp. Managers reply from a shared inbox and send broadcasts. Frequently asked questions
What is time and attendance software?
It records when employees start and finish work, compares that against their shifts, and produces the hours and exceptions that payroll needs. Timed also handles late alerts, leave and variance approvals.
Do employees need to download an app?
No. The Timed Clock app installs from the browser on iPhone (Safari) or Android (Chrome), so there's nothing to get from an app store.
Which payroll systems does Timed work with?
PaySpace and SimplePay. Sage is not supported yet.
Can Timed handle employees at several sites?
Yes. Each location has its own clock records, QR code and managers, and alerts and daily reports go to the managers of each location.
What happens if a GPS or selfie check fails?
The clock-in is still saved and marked as failed, and it shows on the dashboard so a manager can review it.
